SAVARD STEREO SPEAKERS EXTREMELY RARE!!
ONLY PAIR KNOWN TO EXIST! ENORMOUS SIZE AND SOUND!
These beautiful vintage Savard Speakers were left to me by my father. They were custom made by the world-renown Savard Speaker Company in Baton Rouge, La. in the late 70's or early 80's. The name "Savard" was synonomous with Pevey, Harmon Kardon and other great speaker manufacturers of that era. To my knowledge, this is the only pair like this in existence! I cannot find a model number anywhere on the speakers, but the serial number on one of the speakers is 20092, which is still on the back of the speaker since it was purchased. The measurements are 52 3/4" tall, 21 1/2" across and 18" wide. They are enormous!! They have a stunning oak veneer covering, which was a Savard trademark, and are in fantastic shape!

This pair would be perfect for a nostalgic set up in a club, stereo room, theater or museum. I have been told by several stereo buffs and enthusiasts that the pair would appraise in the thousands, but not sure of the actual estimated value. This is a no reserve auction, so bid early and often!

What a piece of junk! I feel sorry for the winner... :| But I suppose there are people that think this kind of "stuff" is actually premium gear... Maybe they never had anyone to show them the way to real audio. Sad....
Well, it has to happen to all of us at least once.....
I remember around 2001 or so , I had just gotten a nice re-enlistment bonus. I was wanting some speakers and saw a brand on ebay.........
They were a D'appoltio type tower with a side firing 10", I thought WOW!, and they were about $300.00 shipped, not even thinking about what the drivers manu were, i thought I was getting a DEAL, lol!!
HAAHA, the joke was about to be on me....I hadn't really went to any speaker or audio forums at the time, was real busy with a new child, a duty station, shopping for a home, and doing work-ups , getting ready to go on deployment..... Well my speakers came, one was damaged, called to dealer, and they sent a new one, along with a what turned out to be a bootlegged copy of a Harry Potter movie.... I had hooked them up and they sounded terrible, I mean just plain terrible.... I opened them up to my surprise that hey were made out of crappy, cheap , stamped Chinese drivers....ugghhh, the name of the brand was Fluence (sp?) I think....
I ended up doing some research later to find out they were to be avoided, only one step up form white-van speakers....I eventually landed some vintage speakers of way better manufacture and gave those crappy ones to my step-dad, he enjoys the hell out of them, but I guess ignorance is bliss....I just wished I had researched the purchase better, but I learned my lesson......
With to these Savard speakers, they look like some Rent-A-Center specials I use to see at friends house when they first go their first place......I bet those tweeters scream at people....would not want to be in the room when those played....
Have a feeling the winning bid was the seller under a different moniker....( I hope), or someone is gonna get a "Fluence" moment..
Anyone care to digress their worst speaker purchase???? Come on I spilled my beans.... I bet there gotta be be some good ones with this crew...
